2026 season

The 2026 season: what each body ran, and what is still to come.

On 30 October 2026 the FAI World Cup and the Drone Champions League seasons are still running, MultiGP's main 2026 events are finished, and the Macao Drone Racing World Cup, which the FAI lists as a CAT.2 event, and MultiGP's Whooptopia are still to come. This page goes through the year in order, one body at a time.

Each body below ran its own events under its own rules, and no result is carried from one body's table to another's. Where a result rests on one press report, a headline or a search-result summary, the text says so. Pilot names are given as each source spells them; a matching name in two bodies' results is not confirmed by any body to be the same person.

The FAI: a World Cup season still running

The FAI Drone Racing World Cup 2026 is in progress, so no overall winner is named here. How many rounds it has is unsettled: a Chinese report on the Ningbo round gives 14 events in 12 countries and regions, while a search-result summary of an FAI page gives 15 competitions in 13 countries. The FAI page itself could not be opened.

The Ningbo Yinzhou round ran from 28 to 31 May at the Ningbo Municipal Sports Development Center stadium in China. The Chinese reports describe it as certified by the FAI, and Xinhua describes Open, youth and women's categories on a course of over 500 m. Tide News, in a report from Ningbo, gives the Open podium as Yuki Hashimoto (Japan), Wang Miao (China) and Minjae Kim (Korea). Both Chinese outlets give 115 pilots; a trade-press search summary gives 130. These results rest on Chinese press, not on an FAI results page.

An Italian round was held on 11 and 12 July. Its venue is given two ways: a summary of an FAI listing places the Trofeo F9U World Cup in Varese, while a trade-press summary places the July final in Sassuolo. That same trade-press summary says Minjae Kim won the final ahead of Killian Rousseau, Yuki Hashimoto and Jonny Exner. The article could not be opened, so the result is unconfirmed.

Search summaries of FAI listings also showed 2026 World Cup entries in Paris (La Queue en Brie), Seoul, Florennes in Belgium, Varese, Sofia, Incheon, Istanbul and Saint-Georges in Canada. Those dates may have changed, and no results for them were found.

The Seoul International Drone Racing World Cup was scheduled for 23 and 24 October at Gwangnaru Hangang Drone Park. The Korea Times describes it as organised by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in its second year, with about 60 pilots from 10 countries expected. The article does not name the FAI or any sanctioning body, so whether it counted as an FAI World Cup round is unconfirmed, and no result was found.

Still to come is the 2026 Macao Drone Racing World Cup, 14 to 18 December, which the FAI lists as a CAT.2 event. No 2026 FAI World Drone Racing Championship and no FAI continental championship were found. More detail is on the FAI World Cup and FAI World Championships.

MultiGP: its main 2026 events are finished

MultiGP is an organiser with its own championships. Its Championship page gives the 2026 Global Qualifier season as 27 March to 24 August. A search summary, whose source page was not identified but is possibly a trade article, says instead that the season opened on 18 April in Rolla, Missouri; that date is unconfirmed.

  • Collegiate Drone Racing Championship: a trade-press search summary places it on 11 and 12 April in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with eight-pilot teams. MultiGP's news page lists a report on it dated 13 April.
  • International Open: 10 to 14 June at the Academy of Model Aeronautics headquarters in Muncie, Indiana, with about 200 pilots from 13 countries, according to the AMA. Its main race, which MultiGP calls the MultiGP World Cup, was won by Minjae Kim according to a trade-press search summary only; no MultiGP result was read.
  • Regional Series: finished, with regional champions listed on MultiGP's pages.
  • European Championship: 11 to 13 September in Aichtal, Germany, MultiGP's second edition. A MultiGP news teaser names "Minjae" as the winner; the recap itself was not read.
  • Championship: 15 to 17 October in Carrollton, Texas. A MultiGP news headline dated 18 October says MCK won; MultiGP's earlier results pair the handle MCK FPV with Minchan Kim. The article and the full standings were not read.
  • Whooptopia: 16 January 2027 in Phoenix, listed by MultiGP as its next main event.

MultiGP's "World Cup" and "European Championship" are MultiGP's own events. Neither is an FAI event. Full detail is on MultiGP championships.

The Drone Champions League: two Cups done, season running

The DCL's season opened with a virtual Falcon Cup seeding race on its simulator on 19 January and a live seeding final on 29 January in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Falcon Cup finals premiered on 12 July and Vexcel Spain Drone Team won. The Eagle Cup finals premiered on 20 September, but no result was found. The DCL says the Hawk Cup and a Super Final follow; no dates were found, and a search summary of a DCL announcement mentions a live final planned for November, which is unconfirmed. See the Drone Champions League.

TEKNOFEST and others

TEKNOFEST's World Drone Cup final was held at Sanliurfa Airport in Turkiye, with the final on 3 October. A single press report, from Yeni Safak, gives the podium as Choi Wonkyun and Kim Minjae (both South Korea) and Dimo Shterev (Bulgaria); TEKNOFEST's own page did not yet list 2026. See other international races.

No 2026 event of the Drone Racing League was found. And looking ahead, the IWGA's confirmed programme for The World Games 2029, published on 3 September 2026, does not include drone racing.
